This course is the second in the precalculus – applied calculus track, its prerequisite is MTH 2003 or MTH 2009. It is an introduction to calculus of one variable with applications of the derivative to curve sketching and optimization; exponential and logarithmic functions; anitderivatives, areas, and integration. Students are required to have a TI 89 or 92 graphical calculator for this course. It is recommended that students who earned a B or better in MTH 2003 and intend to pursue further studies in quantitative disciplines like Statistics, Computer Information Systems, Economics and Finance, register for MTH 2610 instead of MTH 2205.
