As a result of the increased availability of technology, we are able to educate our students in a number of ways in addition to the usual classroom lecture. Videos are available on line and on smart phones covering the material taught in most math courses, individual homework assignments in many courses are provided on line with immediate feedback to our students. Students taking advantage of these resources are able to optimize their learning mathematics. We encourage you to avail yourself of these opportunities.
Educational Background
I received my bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from City College-CUNY, and did my graduate work at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University, receiving a M.S. and Ph.D in Mathematics. My concentration was in Applied Mathematics, specializing in electromagnetic theory, wave motion and nonlinear vibrations. I have written several texts, the most recent of which are Precalculus and Elements of Calculus, utilizing technology in the learning of precalculus and calculus, and An Elementary Introduction to Probability which assumes a level of mathematics through one semester of calculus.
